Fortunately, through rigorous planning and community engagement, a number of local organizations are working together to make Old South one of Baton Rouge's most livable communities.

A new competitive grant program is providing matching money to improve the curb appeal of operating businesses in Old South Baton Rouge. Grants to improve the facades will be up to $5,000 for one-story buildings and $7,500 for two-story buildings. Download the grant application here.

AFFORDABLE LIVING
With money from the federal government's HOPE VI program, the East Baton Rouge Parish Housing Authority is investing over $18 million to deliver quality, affordable housing to Old South residents.
